Seven birdies on Saturday saw him card a faultless 65 and close the gap on Stenson in vying the final title of golf’s European Tour season.

Cabrera-Bello admitted he had been struggling on the front nine, but was thankful for an improvement in his short game that helped him turn things around.

“It’s been a very special round for me today, I am really pleased with the score and a good finish,” he told the European Tour’s official website.

Stenson maintained his consistent performance with a four-under 68.
